On October 14, a Russian missile strike damaged two civilian vessels and killed one person, with several others injured. The attack caused significant damage to both the ships and port infrastructure.

The vessels involved were the Belize-flagged general cargo ship NS Moon and the Palau-flagged Optima. Notably, the Optima had already sustained damage from a previous Russian missile strike about a week earlier.

Oleh Kiper, the regional governor of Ukraine's Odessa Oblast, confirmed that the strike claimed one life and left eight others injured, with two of the injured in serious condition.

Ukrainian authorities report that Russian forces have launched nearly 60 attacks on Ukrainian ports in the past three months. These strikes have damaged over 22 civilian ships and approximately 300 port structures.
