Mario Salcedo, alternatively known as "Super Mario," has reached an extraordinary milestone—his 1,000th cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas. A loyal cruiser for over 25 years, Mario has become a living legend in the cruising world.

Cruise Director Mitch shared the news on social media, writing:

"Congratulations to 1,000 CRUISES FOR SUPER MARIO! He’s been cruising full-time with Royal Caribbean since 1999 and unofficially has over 1,000 cruises with us. This week, we’re celebrating onboard Explorer with crew, guests, Captain, Cruise Director Aysy, and even Ken Rush flew in to honor him! My interview with him drops this week — Super Mario is a certified LEGEND!"

Celebratory photos show Mario wearing a custom jacket adorned with captain’s epaulets and “Super Mario’s 1000th Cruise” embroidered on the back.

According to Wikipedia, Mario has been living almost exclusively on Royal Caribbean ships since 2000, spending only around 15 days a year on land. His uninterrupted time at sea was briefly paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, but even then, his commitment to life at sea is unmatched—outpacing even most crew members’ ocean time!
