On January 21, Stena Ro-Ro announced the expansion of its fleet with the acquisition of the RoRo vessel Giuseppe Lucchesi. Once the acquisition is finalized, the ship will be renamed the Stena Shipper.

Built in 2012 at the Odense Shipyard in Denmark, the vessel was previously owned by CLDN (Compagnia Italiana di Navigazione S.p.A). Following the purchase, the vessel will be registered in Denmark.

While Stena Ro-Ro has not disclosed the specific routes the ship will operate on, it is expected to bolster the company’s presence in Mediterranean shipping lanes.

Measuring 193 meters in length, 26 meters in width, and with a gross tonnage of 29,429, the vessel boasts a large cargo capacity, low fuel consumption, and strong environmental credentials, aligning with Stena's focus on sustainable operations.
