Silversea Cruises has introduced its new vessel, the Silver Nova, to Alaska, where it will offer seven-day journeys until September 5, 2024.

The Silver Nova's debut season in Alaska includes 18 voyages, highlighted by two specific routes:

From June 20-27, 2024, passengers will travel from Vancouver to Seward (Anchorage, Alaska), exploring Ketchikan and delving into the region’s fishing and logging history. The return journey from Seward (Anchorage, Alaska) to Vancouver, from July 25-August 1, 2024, will allow guests to experience the wildlife of the Inside Passage and marvel at the Hubbard Glacier.

This season also introduces the S.A.L.T. program to Alaska, enhancing the culinary experience aboard the Silver Nova.

“We’re delighted to celebrate the inauguration of S.A.L.T. in Alaska,” said Adam Sachs, director of S.A.L.T. at Silversea. “The program will enable our guests to connect meaningfully with the region through bespoke, enriching culinary experiences. From exploring the best ways to prepare wild local salmon in S.A.L.T. Lab classes designed by experts to immersive experiences ashore, the range of culinary experiences on offer will provide a unique lens through which our guests can deep dive into the local culture.”

New S.A.L.T. offerings onboard for the Alaska season include:

  • The "Wild Salmon: An Alaskan Way of Life" class in the S.A.L.T. Lab, focusing on regional culinary techniques.
  • The S.A.L.T. Kitchen, featuring local dishes such as Cured Duck Breast with Traditional Alaskan Frybread and Tangy Redcurrant Jam, along with Alaskan Salmon Pie.
  • In the evenings, the S.A.L.T. Lab transforms into the S.A.L.T. Chef’s Table, presenting exclusive delicacies including table-smoked salmon with pilot bread and salmon roe, Dungeness crab salad, and birch-syrup braised duck with morel mushrooms.
