The Mindelo Cruise Terminal, located in Porto Grande on São Vicente Island, Cape Verde, is nearing completion and is set to open later this year, according to the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports (MedCruise).

The new terminal boasts a 400-meter-long berthing area with a depth of up to 11 meters, enabling it to accommodate two cruise ships at the same time.

Additionally, the facility will feature a 900-square-meter Welcome Building designed to handle visitor reception, processing, and administrative services.

The state-of-the-art terminal includes advanced technology, such as an onshore power supply system, which will help reduce the carbon footprint of port operations.

The project is co-financed by the ORIO Fund from the Netherlands and the OPEC Fund for International Development, highlighting its financial sustainability and importance to the region.
