Royal Caribbean Announces Destination: Perfect Day Mexico

Royal Caribbean has revealed plans for an exciting new destination in the Western Caribbean, named Perfect Day Mexico. According to a company press release, this new port of call will be located in Mahahual, on Mexico's Caribbean coast, and is slated to open in 2027.

Perfect Day Mexico is designed to bring together Royal Caribbean’s signature thrilling experiences with the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Mexico. "Perfect Day at CocoCay has been a game changer for both our guests and our business," said Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. He added, “We’re excited to expand our Perfect Day Collection by creating Perfect Day Mexico to super serve guests who want to explore the Western Caribbean.”

This new destination will complement Royal Caribbean’s other Western Caribbean offerings, including the Royal Beach Club Cozumel, and will offer a mix of exhilarating attractions such as a new water park, pools, beaches, restaurants, and bars, all inspired by local Mexican culture. Passengers can look forward to "an unparalleled lineup of experiences" with a unique local flavor.

Since the launch of Perfect Day at CocoCay in 2019, the destination has become one of the company’s top-rated experiences. Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, said, “Destinations are a big part of why families and adventurers vacation with Royal Caribbean, and in collaboration with Mexico’s state of Quintana Roo, we are unlocking new and unparalleled ways to make memories in a destination known and loved for its natural beauty, warm culture, and prime location.”

In addition to offering unique experiences, Perfect Day Mexico will also emphasize sustainability, aligning with Royal Caribbean Group’s SEA the Future commitment to responsible tourism. The collaboration with the local government and community aims to create a destination that benefits the region while preserving its natural beauty. 

Mara Lezama, governor of the state of Quintana Roo, expressed her excitement, stating, “We are very excited that Royal Caribbean has decided to invest in Mahahual... my administration is looking forward to working very closely with the company to ensure a sustainable destination that brings shared prosperity to the region."
