Cunard has announced an additional visit for the Queen Mary 2 during its return to Liverpool in celebration of its 400th Transatlantic Crossing, as detailed in a recent press release.

The ship will offer two exclusive visits for travel agent partners in the region on September 6 and 7.

Each visit will accommodate 30 participants, with the first session scheduled from 3:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on September 6, and the second from 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on September 7.

Tom Mahoney, Cunard’s UK Sales Director, expressed his enthusiasm: “We can’t wait to welcome our travel agent partners onboard Queen Mary 2 in Liverpool, our spiritual home. First-hand experience is the most effective way for the trade to immerse themselves in everything we do, allowing them to broaden their product knowledge and build their confidence when selling Cunard. It’s also a privilege to be returning to Liverpool – a city that Cunard shares a unique 184-year association with.”

The Queen Mary 2 is set to arrive in Liverpool on September 6, marking Cunard’s first return to the city since the Queen Anne’s naming ceremony in June. After its visit to Liverpool, the ship will depart for Cork, Ireland, on September 7.

The journey to Liverpool began in New York on August 23, marking the ship's 400th Atlantic crossing. Before reaching Liverpool, the Queen Mary 2 will stop at its homeport of Southampton on August 30, followed by a British Isles cruise. This will be the ship’s eighth visit to Liverpool, where large crowds are expected to gather along the Mersey.

The visit on September 6 will showcase Cunard’s entertainment offerings, including a Champagne afternoon tea in the Champagne Bar, a tour of the ship, and an exclusive early evening performance in the Royal Court Theatre.

Agents visiting on September 7 will enjoy a guided ship tour, a three-course lunch at the Britannia Restaurant, and free time to explore the ship. Participation was secured through Cunard’s Shine Rewards loyalty program.

Cunard’s broader 2024 ship visit program also features events in Greenock and Southampton, offering opportunities to experience the new Queen Anne and Queen Victoria, as well as the Queen Mary 2.
