At the Hilcorp Caillou Island plant in Terrebonne Bay, Louisiana, an oil tank platform fell on Monday, causing an oil leak, to which the Coast Guard has provided assistance.

A tank fell as a result of a structural issue at an oil tank platform. Approximately 14,000 gallons of oil are thought to have leaked.

According to the USCG, there have not yet been any reports of the oil spill's effects on the local wildlife and there are currently five reaction vessels on the site, three skimming vessels, and 4,500 feet of containment boom
