Norwegian Cruise Line is repositioning several of its ships to the Caribbean and North America, resulting in the cancellation of over 50 cruises planned for the 2025-26 season. Here’s a summary of the changes, with the new itineraries set to open for booking on November 29, 2024:

Norwegian Star

  • Cancelled Cruises: November 20, 2025, to April 14, 2026
    • Original Deployment: South America and Antarctica
      • New Deployment: Bahamas and Southern Caribbean (homeport TBD)

Originally slated for a winter season in South America, the Norwegian Star will now operate cruises to the Bahamas and Southern Caribbean. The ship is also set to offer trans-Atlantic crossings between Europe and North America.

          • Original Deployment: Africa and the Indian Ocean
            • New Deployment: Western Caribbean (homeport TBD)

The Norwegian Dawn’s previously planned itineraries to Africa and the Indian Ocean have been replaced with a winter season in the Western Caribbean. Like the Star, this ship will also operate trans-Atlantic sailings to and from Europe.

              Norwegian Jewel

              • Cancelled Cruises: November 23, 2025, to April 16, 2026
                • Original Deployment: Caribbean and Bahamas from Tampa
                  • New Deployment: Bahamas, Southern Caribbean, and Panama Canal from Miami

The Norwegian Jewel will now sail from PortMiami, offering itineraries to the Bahamas, Southern Caribbean, and Panama Canal. The ship was originally scheduled to sail from the Port of Tampa Bay.

                    Norwegian Jade

                    • Cancelled Cruises: October 18, 2025, to February 16, 2026
                      • Original Deployment: Panama Canal and Caribbean from Miami and Panama City
                        • New Deployment: Mexican Riviera and West Coast from San Diego

The Norwegian Jade is shifting to the West Coast to operate cruises to the Mexican Riviera, departing from San Diego. The ship’s original schedule included itineraries to the Panama Canal and Caribbean from Miami and Panama City.

These changes reflect Norwegian’s strategic focus on redeploying ships to meet demand in the Caribbean and North America, while expanding offerings on the West Coast.
