After the YM Witness incident, which resulted in the collapse of multiple cranes at the Port of Evyap, the operating Taiwanese company has reported no injuries or environmental harm.

Yang Ming, the company chartering the vessel reported that during its docking procedure on March 16 at Evyap Port, Turkey, the ship collided with the pier and several gantry cranes. Footage of the event depicts the ship making a too steep approach, striking a quay wall, which led to the collapse of a quay crane and subsequently triggered a chain reaction that knocked down adjacent cranes. Some containers were also seen falling into the sea.

A thorough investigation is underway, involving the ship's owner and maritime officials. Despite earlier accounts of a port worker being gravely injured, Yang Ming clarified that there have been no fatalities or injuries from the accident, nor has there been any reported marine pollution thus far.

The YM Witness, serving the Far East-Mediterranean route, is still docked at the Turkish port pending the outcome of the investigations. The shipping company is in the process of adjusting its schedule and making arrangements for the transfer of the affected cargo.
