Nakilat Commissions Six New Gas Carrier Builds in S. Korea
Nakilat, a leading Qatari company in liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipping, is significantly expanding its fleet by adding six new gas carriers. These vessels are being constructed at the renowned Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in South Korea. The expansion includes two LNG carriers, each with a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters, and four carriers for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia, boasting 88,000 cubic meters each.
Highlighting its commitment to cutting-edge technology and environmental sustainability, Nakilat has emphasized that these ships will be equipped with state-of-the-art, eco-friendly, and efficient propulsion systems, including devices aimed at reducing fuel consumption.

Scheduled for delivery between 2026 and 2027, these new additions will enhance Nakilat's LNG fleet to a total of 71 vessels and increase its LPG fleet to eight vessels. This strategic expansion underscores Nakilat's role in the global energy transportation sector, aiming to meet the growing demand for environmentally responsible and efficient gas transport solutions.
