Holland America Line Launches Celestial Cruises for 2026

Holland America Line has announced a new series of Celestial Cruises for 2026, offering guests the chance to witness extraordinary celestial events, as detailed in a company statement.

Starting July 31, travelers can book these unique cruises to experience phenomena like the Northern Lights, a total solar eclipse, and the summer solstice above the Arctic Circle.

“After the excitement and success around our 2024 eclipse cruises, we knew our guests were looking for additional opportunities to get a front-row seat for some of the world’s most special natural spectacles,” said Beth Bodensteiner, chief commercial officer for Holland America Line. “Our team has put together a lineup of cruises that not only deliver on that front, but also give guests in-depth exploration of exciting destinations and the premium onboard experience for which we’re known.”

Those opting for solar eclipse cruises will benefit from expert lectures, themed activities, and more, with eclipse glasses and other necessary gear provided. For Northern Lights cruises, guests can choose to receive a wake-up call whenever the aurora borealis is visible.

Three Holland America ships will be strategically positioned for the total solar eclipse on August 12, 2026: the Oosterdam off Spain’s eastern coast, the Nieuw Statendam off Iceland’s western coast, and the Zuiderdam on its Voyage of the Vikings.

For those interested in viewing the Northern Lights, two cruises on the Rotterdam and Nieuw Statendam are available, featuring an overnight stay in Alta, also known as “The City of the Northern Lights,” with five days spent above the Arctic Circle.

Additionally, guests can celebrate the summer solstice aboard the Nieuw Statendam, which will take them above the Arctic Circle to Honningsvåg, Norway.

For a limited time, travelers booking the 2026 Celestial Cruises with the Have It All premium package will receive standard package amenities such as shore excursions, specialty dining, a Signature Beverage Package, and Surf Wi-Fi.
