Geoquip Marine Wins Survey Work for Waterekke Wind Farm

Geoquip Marine, a Swiss-based offshore geotechnical specialist, has secured a new contract from clean energy investor Luxcara to carry out a geotechnical survey for the Waterekke offshore wind project in the German North Sea.
The project is part of Luxcara’s growing renewable energy portfolio and involves a comprehensive geotechnical investigation aimed at analyzing subsurface conditions. The data will be used to inform the design, planning, and timely development of the 1.5 GW wind farm, which is located about 85 kilometers northwest of Helgoland.
Geoquip Marine, which is backed by Njord Partners and led by former PGS CEO Rune Pedersen, stated that this latest engagement builds on its earlier work for Luxcara’s 270 MW Waterkant offshore wind farm, situated roughly 90 kilometers off the island of Borkum.
The offshore survey work for the Waterekke project is expected to be completed in 2025.
