Explosion on Cargo Ship at Manila Results in Fatality, Injuries

A cargo ship flying the Philippine flag experienced an explosion while docked at Manila Port on August 27, as reported by local news outlets.
The explosion occurred at approximately 10:30 AM local time on the second deck of the cargo vessel Everwin Star II, which was docked at Vitas Pier 18. Tragically, the incident resulted in the death of one crewmember, while two others sustained severe third-degree burns. The injured were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has initiated an investigation to uncover the cause of the explosion. Both the Manila Police Authority and the BFP are involved in the ongoing investigation.
