Engine Room Fire on Kriti Captain Contained at French Anchorage

On January 25, a fire broke out in the engine room of the oil and chemical tanker Kriti Captain while it was moored at the Port-la-Nouvelle Anchorage in France, according to a global marine claims management firm.
Local firefighting teams responded promptly and were able to extinguish the blaze. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and there has been no indication of significant environmental damage. The vessel remains under observation, with tugboats stationed nearby for assistance.
The Kriti Captain, a Liberian-flagged tanker, was built in 2007. It measures 184 meters in length and has a beam of 27 meters.
