On November 24, a fire broke out in the engine room of the container vessel GSL Chloe as it was preparing to dock at Ningbo Port. Although the fire was swiftly extinguished by the crew, the incident caused temporary disruptions in the larger Ningbo Port area.

The vessel’s location during the incident obstructed critical passageways, complicating operations at the busy port.

The GSL Chloe is a Liberian-flagged container ship built in 2012. It measures 208.9 meters in length, 30 meters in width, and has a gross tonnage of 26,374. Despite the fire, no further damage or injuries were reported, and port operations resumed shortly after the situation was resolved.
