Cunard Celebrates Record-Breaking Bookings in 2024
Following the launch of the Queen Anne, Cunard has achieved a milestone in 2024, reporting its highest-ever bookings for the year.
Between January 1 and October 31, 2024, the cruise line saw an increase of 73,000 guest reservations compared to the same period in 2023, marking a 23% year-on-year growth, according to a company press release.
“As we look ahead to 2025, we are proud to report record-breaking bookings that demonstrate the continued strength of Cunard’s commercial performance,” said Katie McAlister, president of Cunard.
This surge represents the largest number of guest reservations during this timeframe in Cunard’s history. Key markets driving the growth include the UK and North America, with bookings increasing by 24% and 29%, respectively, compared to the previous year.
The introduction of the Queen Anne in May has been a significant factor in this success, alongside three new cruise programs announced for 2024. McAlister noted that Cunard’s global reputation continues to attract travelers. “The launch of the Queen Anne has been a key driver of this success, increasing our capacity and capturing the imagination of both loyal and first-time guests,” she said.
The rollout of itineraries for winter 2026, summer 2026, and winter 2027 further bolstered interest. Cunard also reported that more than half of bookings from January to October originated from outside the UK, demonstrating the brand’s growing international appeal.
Targeted marketing efforts in global regions contributed to a 22% increase in international guest bookings over the past year. Additionally, first-time guests made up a significant share of the growth, with a 49% increase in new travelers choosing to sail with Cunard compared to the same period in 2023.
