Carnival Spirit Prepares for Drydock & 2025 Voyages
The Carnival Spirit is gearing up for a transatlantic journey to the Mediterranean for scheduled maintenance. After completing its final sailing from Mobile, Alabama, the 2001-built ship will depart for Europe on January 30, 2025.
The vessel will spend three and a half weeks in drydock at a Mediterranean shipyard. Once the updates are complete, the Spirit will resume service with a special 14-night repositioning cruise starting March 16, 2025.
This transatlantic itinerary departs from Spain and concludes in Miami, offering guests a chance to visit stunning destinations in Spain, Portugal, and Bermuda. Ports of call include Málaga, Cádiz, Ponta Delgada, and King’s Wharf.
Later in March, the 2,100-passenger ship will begin a Panama Canal voyage as it transitions to its summer season in Alaska. This 15-night cruise sails from Miami to Seattle, stopping in Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, and Mexico.
For the summer of 2025, the Carnival Spirit will offer a series of seven-night cruises exploring Alaska and Canada. Sailing roundtrip from Seattle, the itineraries include stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, Victoria, and Skagway, as well as scenic cruising through Tracy Arm Fjord.
By October, the ship will return to Mobile to begin offering a range of Caribbean and Bahamas cruises, with itineraries ranging from five to 14 nights.
As the first ship in Carnival’s Spirit Class, the Carnival Spirit was constructed at Kvaerner Masa-Yards in Finland and launched in 2001. Over the years, it has undergone significant upgrades, including a major renovation in 2018.
During the 2018 refurbishment in Singapore, the ship introduced enhanced family-friendly entertainment options and added several new dining and bar venues.
