Cargo Vessel Venture Refloated After Running Aground in Elbe

On March 18, the Antigua Barbuda-flagged cargo vessel Venture suffered an engine failure and ran aground in the Elbe River near Hamburg. The vessel began drifting before becoming stranded in shallow waters.
Authorities quickly responded by deploying a tugboat to assist the vessel. The tug successfully refloated Venture and guided it safely to Hamburg Port. No injuries or environmental damage were reported.
Built in 1993, Venture is a cargo ship with a carrying capacity of 2,366 tonnes. It measures 74.9 meters in length and 11.4 meters in width.
