On the evening of October 9, two cargo ships collided near Hachinohe City, Japan.

The ships involved in the incident were the Ji Zhe 7, flagged under Panama, and the Mimitsu. The Ji Zhe 7 had just departed from Hattaro Pier in Hachinohe City when strong winds pushed the vessel back toward the pier.

Around 4:00 PM, the Ji Zhe 7 struck the Mimitsu, which was docked at the Hattaro Pier at the time of the collision. Fortunately, there were no oil spills or flooding reported from either ship, and the crews aboard both vessels escaped unharmed.

The Hachinohe City Coast Guard has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
