MSC Cruises has announced that Drew Barrymore and Orlando Bloom will headline the company’s first-ever Big Game commercial, marking a major milestone for the cruise line’s North American expansion.

The 60-second ad will spotlight MSC Cruises’ signature blend of European sophistication and American comfort while introducing its newest flagship, the MSC World America, set to debut in Miami in April 2025.

Barrymore and Bloom are collaborating with MSC Cruises to launch its first national advertising campaign, designed to increase brand awareness as the family-owned company continues to expand its presence in North America.

The ad features the two stars enjoying a getaway aboard the MSC World America. “I am so proud to work with MSC Cruises, which is a company that makes it possible for people and families to get to see the world,” said Drew Barrymore, actress and host of The Drew Barrymore Show.

“They take care of all the planning and make it beautiful and joyful! They are also helping to create incredible memories to last a lifetime. I’m so excited to partner with MSC Cruises on this most meaningful endeavor!”

In the commercial, the duo takes over the piano in the exclusive Top Sail Lounge, part of the MSC Yacht Club, the cruise line’s luxurious “ship-within-a-ship” enclave. While Barrymore performs a rendition of “Holiday,” Bloom playfully offers his critique. The song serves as the theme for the campaign.

“This is my first Big Game commercial, and I’m flattered to partner with such a prestigious brand,” said Orlando Bloom. “The MSC World America is full of European style and is perfectly designed for immersive and enriching experiences at sea. I’m excited to share this elegant new ship on America’s biggest stage, and I’m sure the MSC World America will wow holidaymakers of all types—Americans and Europeans alike.”

Produced by creative agency Highdive, the ad highlights MSC Cruises’ unique offerings compared to other cruise lines.

“The fun dynamic between Drew and Orlando in our Big Game commercial is a great representation of the MSC World America—which combines European design and authentic experiences with everything Americans have come to expect from a cruise—to offer an unmatched vacation,” said Suzanne Salas, EVP of Marketing, eCommerce & Sales at MSC Cruises USA.

Slated to begin sailing from PortMiami on April 9, 2025, the MSC World America will be MSC Cruises’ largest ship in the North American market. The LNG-powered ship will offer seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, all of which include a visit to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC’s private island in The Bahamas.

With this campaign and the launch of the MSC World America, 2025 promises to be a landmark year for MSC Cruises in the U.S.
