Adventure Canada has reported a sharp increase in interest and bookings from Canadian travelers. According to a recent company statement, 71 percent of guests booked for 2025 hail from Canada, a number that has already climbed to 78 percent for 2026.

This rise reflects a growing trend toward domestic travel and a desire to support Canadian-owned and operated companies. Travelers are increasingly drawn to Adventure Canada’s unique blend of cultural connection, environmental awareness, and community-focused experiences.

“We welcome anyone with an open mind and a spirit of adventure,” said Cedar Swan, CEO of Adventure Canada. “It’s inspiring to see more Canadians eager to experience the breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and incredible people that make our country so unique. For nearly 40 years, we’ve navigated these waters with those who know them best, fostering education, exploration, and camaraderie along the way. We’re proud to share these experiences and deepen connections to Canada.”

Part of Adventure Canada’s appeal lies in the opportunity to travel alongside notable Canadian figures who enrich the journey with their expertise and storytelling:

  • Jacquie Matechuk, award-winning wildlife photographer and Canon Canada ambassador, offers hands-on guidance for those looking to elevate their photography skills while exploring remote landscapes.
  • Margaret Atwood, renowned author of The Handmaid’s Tale and The Testaments, has participated in voyages and even wrote The Stone Mattress aboard an expedition. She shares her literary insights and hosts thought-provoking discussions with fellow guests.
  • Barney Bentall, Juno Award-winning musician and frontman of The Legendary Hearts, adds a musical element to the journey. In addition to performing, Bentall also contributes to the expedition team, occasionally assisting with shore landings.
  • Bob McDonald, beloved science broadcaster and host of Quirks & Quarks, captivates travelers with engaging talks on topics such as climate change, astronomy, and the natural world.

Adventure Canada’s commitment to education, sustainability, and storytelling continues to resonate with Canadians looking to explore their own backyard through immersive and meaningful travel. With its increasing popularity among domestic travelers, the company is poised to continue fostering deeper connections between people, places, and the planet.
