A U.S.-flagged Ro-Ro/passenger vessel, Eagle, collided with a harbor structure while leaving Nantucket Island on its way to Hyannis, Massachusetts. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.

The collision happened on April 5 at around 5:30 p.m. local time, when the ship struck an outer dolphin on its port side. The impact caused the structure to break apart, sending debris into the surrounding waters.

Although the ship came into contact with the structure, it did not suffer major damage. The Eagle was cleared by the U.S. Coast Guard and has since returned to normal operations. Authorities have launched an investigation to find out what led to the accident.

Built in 1987, the Eagle is a roll-on/roll-off passenger ship with a gross tonnage of 3,269. It measures 71.01 meters in length and 18.32 meters in width.
