Princess Cruises Sends Three Ships to Drydock This April

Princess Cruises is carrying out scheduled drydock work on three of its vessels this April: Emerald Princess, Grand Princess, and Regal Princess.
The Emerald Princess was the first to enter drydock, arriving earlier this month at the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, Italy. Built in 2007, the ship is undergoing standard maintenance, class inspections, and technical updates in preparation for its summer season. It is set to return to service on April 29, 2025, offering cruises from Southampton.
Meanwhile, the Grand Princess, built in 1998, is currently at the Vigor Shipyard in Portland, Oregon. The ship began its drydock in mid-April, where it is undergoing routine maintenance, class inspections, and minor updates to public areas and cabins. It is expected to resume operations in early May ahead of its summer sailings in Alaska and Canada.
Later this month, the Regal Princess will also enter drydock. The 3,600-passenger ship is scheduled to arrive at the Damen Shiprepair Yard in Rotterdam on April 25, 2025. During its time in drydock, the vessel will receive technical servicing and general upkeep before restarting its cruise schedule in early May. The ship will be homeporting from Southampton and operating 12-night British Isles itineraries for the summer season.
In related news, earlier in the year, the Majestic Princess completed its own drydock in Europe. The 2017-built ship underwent a refresh that included new dining and entertainment venues such as O’Malley’s Irish Pub, Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, and Good Spirits at Sea. Now sailing in the Mediterranean, this marks the Majestic Princess' first return to Europe in eight years.
