Maersk has declared the reopening of its services for new bookings to and from Port Sudan.
The Danish shipping giant previously limited its bookings to and from Port Sudan to connections with Europe, due to concerns in the Red Sea area, including the Bab al-Mandab Strait. Now, Maersk has expanded its booking services to include routes from Port Sudan to the Middle East, as well as to the Asia-Pacific and Africa regions.
Maersk specified, "All cargo will go via the Cape of Good Hope, due to the volatile situation in and surrounding the Red Sea," highlighting their ongoing vigilance regarding the conditions in and near the Red Sea.
