On April 6th, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) announced a significant milestone as the Greek bulk carrier, Captain Leonidas, became the largest ship to dock at a Ukrainian port since the onset of the Russian invasion two years ago. This vessel, which is part of Adam Polemis New Shipping's fleet and flies the Panamanian flag, set sail from Pivdennyi bound for Port Said in Egypt.

The Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine revealed that Captain Leonidas is transporting 195,700 tons of metallurgical products sourced from Ukrainian steel manufacturers. Additionally, it was reported that around 135 vessels are queued to enter Odessa Port, aiming to ship another 4 million tonnes of goods.

A March report highlighted that the number of vessels navigating through Ukraine's grain corridor in the first seven months surpassed the total for the UN-protected Black Sea Grain Initiative during its entire operation before being halted by Russia.

As of March 5th, a total of 991 ships have set sail from Ukraine's three primary ports: Odessa, Chornomorsk, and Yuzhny/Pivdennyi. These vessels have transported 28.9 million tons of mainly food products, outstripping the previous year's 32.9 million tons of cargo and 1,004 trips via the Black Sea route.
