Bulk Carrier Lila Incheon Hits Quay at Brunsbüttel Port

On 13th February, the Liberian-flagged bulk carrier Lila Incheon made contact with the quay while maneuvering to berth at Brunsbüttel Port on the Elbe River, Germany. No injuries or environmental pollution resulted from the incident.
According to the Brunsbüttel water police, preliminary findings suggest that a maneuvering error led to the vessel striking the quay, causing hull damage, including a hole above the waterline. Fortunately, no water ingress was reported.
As a precaution, authorities have detained the Lila Incheon for necessary repairs and inspections to ensure its seaworthiness before resuming operations.
Built in 2010, the Lila Incheon has a carrying capacity of 32,401 tonnes, with a length of 180.82 meters and a beam of 30 meters.
