On December 18, Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) announced the arrival of four more remote-controlled super post-Panamax quay cranes and eight remote-controlled rubber-tired gantry cranes at Terminal D.

These new electrically powered quay cranes, the largest in Thailand, feature an impressive outreach of 24 rows and can handle containers stacked up to 10 high above a vessel’s deck.

With this latest addition, Terminal D now operates 14 super post-Panamax quay cranes. The final phase of expansion, which includes three more quay cranes and seven rubber-tired gantry cranes, is slated for delivery by early 2026.

To further enhance operations, HPT is implementing an expanded container stacking area and automated truck gate lanes. These improvements aim to streamline container yard activities and boost vessel productivity, according to Hutchison Ports.
