Hellenic Cables, a division of Cenergy Holdings, has entered into a partnership with Leading Light Wind, an offshore wind project located near the New Jersey coast, to supply a portion of the project's inter-array cables.

The company will provide 65 km of 132kV inter-array cables as part of the overall cable requirements for the project. Leading Light Wind is being developed by Invenergy, the lead developer, and co-developer energyRe.

As the only American-led initiative in the New York Bight lease area, Leading Light Wind will have the capacity to generate 2.4GW of energy, which is enough to power up to 1 million homes each year. The project is also expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 4 million tonnes annually once it becomes operational.

Hellenic Cables plans to start production of some cable components immediately at its facility in Corinth, Greece, with full delivery of the inter-array cables scheduled for 2030.

“Our contribution to the Leading Light Wind project underscores Hellenic Cables’ commitment to providing pioneering solutions that support the energy transition and enhance sustainability on a global scale,” said Alexis Alexiou, CEO of Cenergy Holdings.
