George Procopiou’s Dynacom Tankers has placed additional orders for LR1 product carriers at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding in China.

Greek brokers indicate that the company has secured contracts for four 75,000 dwt newbuilds, scheduled for delivery in 2028. This follows a previous order placed last year at the Singapore-listed private yard for two similar vessels, which are set to join Dynacom’s fleet in 2026.

The first pair of newbuilds was priced at $53 million each, while the latest series is estimated to cost $55 million per vessel.

The Athens-based firm, which manages close to 70 tankers, also has orders for LR1s at New Times Shipbuilding, covering various tonnage segments. Additionally, Dynacom recently commissioned 158,000 dwt suezmax newbuilds at Samsung Heavy Industries for $83 million each, with construction subcontracted to PaxOcean Zhoushan in China.
