While some cruise operators have introduced fuel surcharges due to rising energy prices, Costa Cruises has confirmed it will not apply additional fuel fees on cruises departing through September 30, 2026.

In a message sent to travel agency partners, the company stated that the policy applies to both new and existing bookings, regardless of the fare type selected. Costa said guests will continue to pay the originally confirmed cruise price, with the company absorbing the additional operating costs instead of passing them on to passengers.

The same approach also applies to charter flight packages to the Mediterranean departing from Düsseldorf, meaning travelers will not face extra kerosene-related charges.

Costa noted that it is continuing to monitor fuel price developments for sailings after September 30, 2026. However, based on current expectations, the company believes it may still be able to avoid introducing fuel surcharges, although no final decision has been made. As part of the Carnival Corporation group, Costa said future decisions will depend on movements in global fuel markets.

This summer, most of the Costa fleet will operate in Europe, with the exception of Costa Serena, which remains deployed in Asia. Costa Diadema and *Costa Favolosa *will both sail Northern Europe itineraries from German departure ports, while the rest of the fleet will focus primarily on Mediterranean cruises.
