Container analysts at Alphaliner have reported that French shipping giant CMA CGM has acquired five high-reefer 2,259 TEU container vessels that it previously had on long-term charter from Dutch reefer owner Seatrade.
The price for each ship is believed to be in the low $30 million range.
The ships in question are the Seatrade Orange, Seatrade Red, Seatrade White, Seatrade Blue, all built between 2016 and 2017, and the Seatrade Green, which was built in 2019. All five vessels were constructed at Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding in China.
Meanwhile, Seatrade is currently in the process of receiving a series of six new high-reefer 1,800 TEU boxships from Huanghai Shipbuilding, also based in China
