A Liberian-flagged cement carrier, the Blue Ciment 1, encountered engine failure while sailing from Norway to Zonguldak, Turkey. Tugboats were dispatched by the Turkish General Directorate of Coastal Safety to assist the vessel.

The carrier experienced engine trouble near Anadolu Hisarı in the Bosphorus Strait. In response, the Directorate sent two tugboats, Kurtama-8 and Kurtama-11, to aid the stranded ship.

Currently, the Blue Ciment 1 has dropped anchor and is awaiting assistance. It is anticipated to reach the port of Zonguldak, Turkey, by October 15.

The Blue Ciment 1, built in 2007, is a 9,229-gross-ton cement carrier, measuring 134 meters in length with a beam of 21 meters.
