Rank: CHIEF ENGINEER Contract: 3:3 months Embarkation: Apply via Maritime Zone Type: Passenger (Expedition) Ship Size: 6,471 Grt; 112 m length; 2 x BMV KVM-16 (2x3200 hp) Ice Class: 1A Requirements: The Chief Engineer is the head of the Engineering Department and is responsible for: Ensuring that the Engine Crew is familiar with relevant procedures. The efficient operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment associated with safety and anti-pollution as defined by statutory legislation and Company procedures. Ensuring statutory and class surveys are carried out on all plant and equipment covered by such survey requirements. Maintaining stand-by plant and systems in a completed state of readiness to meet any emergency requirement. Testing stand-by systems on a regular basis and in accordance with Company procedure. Notifying the Captain immediately of any deficiencies which may affect the ship’s safety or put the marine environment atrisk. Assigning specific roles with respect to engineering department responsibilities under the safety management system. Investigating non-conformance and applying corrective action as agreed with the ship’s Captain. Regularly inspecting all plant and equipment. Supervision of all Engineers when working in the Engine Room Ensuring the Engine Logbook and Oil Record Book are accurate and up todate. Participating in safety and management meetings. Having an adequate understanding of relevant rules, regulations, codes, and guidelines and being fully conversant with the Company’s SMS. Monitoring Class Status Reports to ensure that vessel machinery is inspected in accordance with Class requirements. Needs to have Bergen engines experience Follow the link to apply:
