Asia Pacific Shipping Expands Fleet with 12 New Tanker Orders
Vietnamese shipowner Asia Pacific Shipping (ASP) is significantly expanding its tanker fleet with 12 new vessels ordered from Chinese shipyards.
Based in Hanoi, ASP has placed orders across several yards, including Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC), Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS), and Wuhu Shipyard.
According to shipbuilding sources, DSIC will construct eight 115,000 dwt tankers, each priced at approximately $70 million, with deliveries starting in 2027. Wuhu Shipyard has secured an order for two 25,900 dwt stainless steel tankers, adding to four other newbuilds it is already building for ASP, all slated for delivery in 2027.
Additionally, ASP has confirmed an order for two 114,000 dwt aframax tankers at SWS, with delivery also scheduled for 2027.
Founded in 2021, Asia Pacific Shipping currently manages a diverse fleet of nearly 30 vessels across tanker, dry bulk, and gas carrier segments. The company has been aggressively expanding its fleet, with numerous ships ordered at Chinese yards over the past year. ASP also has two MR2 tankers under construction at K Shipbuilding in South Korea, expected for delivery in 2026 and 2027.
