Job Information Job Description Command & Navigation : Directly oversees the ship's operation, setting courses, determining speeds, and ensuring safe passage through international waters and into ports. Safety & Security : Holds paramount responsibility for the safety of the vessel, crew, passengers, and cargo. This includes conducting regular emergency drills (fire, man overboard) and ensuring all safety equipment is functional. Crew Management : Leads, trains, and supervises all departments on board, including deck, engineering, and service staff. Legal Compliance : Ensures the ship adheres to local and international maritime laws, such as those set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) . They handle all required documentation, from customs declarations to official logbooks. Emergency Response : Acts as the lead decision-maker during crises, such as severe weather, technical failures, or medical emergencies.
