Job Information Job Description Chief supervisory role in the engine department of a vessel or offshore platform, second in command to the Chief Engineer. Key responsibilities include engine room safety, personnel management and training, machinery maintenance and repairs, environmental protection compliance (e.g., MARPOL regulations). The Second Engineer also supervises daily operations, maintains engine room records, manages spare parts inventory, and assumes the Chief Engineer's duties during their absence.
