Job Information Job Description A Bosun (or Boatswain) is a senior member of the deck crew on a ship, responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of the deckhands, maintaining deck equipment, and ensuring the safe operation of the vessel, particularly during mooring, anchoring, and cargo operations. They are essentially the foreman of the deck department.
