On January 15, COSCO Shipping took delivery of the cargo vessel Green Rizhao during an official induction ceremony in Dalian, China.

This 77,000-deadweight-ton ship measures 225 meters in length and 32.2 meters in width. Designed as a versatile carrier, it is equipped to transport a wide range of cargo, including pulp, high-speed trains, wind energy equipment, electric vehicles, heavy machinery, and large steel structures.

The Green Rizhao has earned the distinction of being China’s first cargo vessel constructed with net-zero carbon emissions. It successfully passed a carbon-neutral assessment and was awarded a Carbon Neutrality Certificate by the China Classification Society.

The ship’s maiden voyage will see it journey from China to Brazil, carrying wind energy equipment, engineering machinery, and containers.
